Hi there! 10mm quartz surfacing is becoming more and more popular. The millimeter measurement converts to a little more than 3/8", which is actually the general thickness of a 12" x 12" floor tile, for comparison purposes.
The reason it's becoming more popular is due to the durability and hardness (7 on the Mohs scale, a diamond is 10) of the quartz surfacing. The three best companies that offer these thicknesses, or close to them (usually 1.2cm or 1.3cm are OKITE, Silestone, and Cambria. The following link takes you to a website that tells you the thicknesses for each of these quartz surfacing companies. Email me if you have any other questions.
Warm Regards,
Justin
