First answer: How can anyone here answer this? You haven't bothered to post a picture link. My guess is that if you selected it from MSI, and they told you it's Galaxy Black, it is in fact Galaxy Black.

Second answer: If you have to search for the scratch, and normally can't see it, leave it alone.

It's true, granite is pretty tough, but...

1) Granite is readily scratched by granite, sand, porcelain, diamond, zircon, and silicon carbide, so no, it's not nearly impossible to scratch.

2) Black Galaxy is not granite, but something almost as hard.

Note the above list of what can scratch your stone. Porcelain includes the material many coffee mugs are made of. Silicon carbide is in heavy duty Scotch-brite type scrubbing pads. Sand can blow in through a screened window, get trapped under a plate or cutting board.

If you really want to get rid of the scratch, the stone can be refinished by an experienced stone refinisher, and Galaxy Black is softer and easier to finish than a true granite, though getting the finish to exactly match the untouched area may not be possible. The patch polished area can sometimes be polished better than the rest of the slab on this one. Or, you may find the person you use can't do the job. Black is not easy to match finish on, takes quiet a special touch.

If the scratch is really minor, it's not worth attempting remediation.

Regards.
